Jack Brock and the Walk

The sequel to the book that has captivated countless hearts, Jack Brock is eager to embark on another journey.

Inspired by the many charity sponsored walks author and illustrator Ali Stearn has organised over the years with her miniature Shetland pony Jack Brock.

The book may be aimed at children and full of chaos but there are many relatable incidents that will make dog owners grin from ear to ear just as much if not more than the children.

Jack Brock’s First Book

Written and illustrated by his owner Ali. Inspired by the true story of Jack Brock the miniature Shetland pony, this story shows how Jack Brock made a real difference in his community through visiting care homes.

Jack Brock was enjoying his daily walk when his owner suddenly started taking him somewhere new, a care home. Here Jack meets so many new people including Alma, Bob and Audrey and, although a little shy at first, Jack manages to bring a smile to everyone’s faces through his silly antics. But perhaps most significantly of all, he manages to get a response from a lady dementia sufferer who otherwise is completely unresponsive to the world around her.

Jack captured in paint

Ali has always had a talent for drawing but after recently attending a local art class, it’s enabled her to develop her skills further. She loves to illustrate working in watercolour mostly and of course capturing the heart and soul of animals in extraordinary worlds. Jack is an excellent poser for his Christmas cards. Ali is currently working on another book both writing it and illustrating it, to tell Jack’s wonderful story with a bit of magic thrown into it too!
